I have been researching my Family tree for about 7 years. When I began, I knew virtually nothing about my family but now I have over 3000 names in my file. My Wingfield family came originally from Shropshire. There are a potential of 9 different Wingfield lines from England. Mine is called the Onslow line. Its origins are in Shropshire. My link to this line was established by a Y chromosome DNA study. One or more of these Wingfields moved to the Bethnal Green area of London where births and marriages were registered at St. Leonard's Church in Shoreditch. I have only managed to get back to William Richard Wingfield b 1818 and his father William in my Wingfield family.
My Anderson family comes from Aberdeenshire, Scotland. William Anderson emigrated to Ontario in the 1830's and settled in Pilkington Township. My Streeter family comes from Horsham, Sussex and the area surrounding Horsham. My Mead family comes from Good Easter, Essex where they owned a farm in the 1800's called Elbows Farm. The Goachers come from Ashurst, Sussex and its surrounding area.
I wanted to create a web page so that I could share my research with others. I owe many people for helping me with my family research and I would like to provide the same help for other researchers. Perhaps others, in looking at my site, might be able to find links to their own families and in that way expand their trees and my tree as well. It is important also to gather information for our grand children. How many of us that have started this pursuit wish we had done so earlier when there were people still around to answer the many questions that we now have about our families.
